What is the Second Saturday Divorce Workshop?

Second Saturday–Austin is a live, hosted online educational workshop designed to help people better understand the legal, financial, and emotional aspects of divorce.

The workshop brings together experienced professionals to provide general information, answer questions, and help you feel more informed and grounded about your options.

Who should attend this workshop?

This workshop is helpful if you are:

  • Thinking about divorce

  • In the early stages of the process

  • Already divorced and seeking clarity

  • Feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start

  • Supporting a friend or family member going through divorce

You do not need to have made any decisions before attending.

Do I need to be sure I want a divorce before attending?

No. Many people attend simply to gather information and understand their options.

Second Saturday is about education — not encouraging divorce or pushing outcomes.

Is this workshop in person or online?

The Austin Second Saturday Divorce Workshop is offered as a live, hosted online experience.

This format allows us to provide a calm, consistent, and accessible workshop each month while preserving the thoughtful, human approach the Austin program is known for.

Is this a webinar or recording?

No. This is a live, hosted workshop, not a pre-recorded webinar.

The presenters are live, questions are addressed in real time, and the experience is interactive — though participation is always optional.

Do I have to speak or turn on my camera?

No. Cameras are optional, and you are welcome to attend quietly.

You may ask questions if you wish, or simply listen and take notes.

What topics are covered?

The workshop covers:

  • The divorce process and legal considerations

  • Financial issues such as property division and taxes

  • Emotional and family-related challenges

  • Alternatives to court, including mediation

  • Common mistakes to avoid

  • Helpful questions to ask professionals

Topics are presented in a general, educational manner.

Will I receive legal or financial advice?

No. The workshop provides general educational information only.

It is not a substitute for personalized legal, financial, or therapeutic advice, but it can help you ask better questions and feel more prepared when speaking with professionals.

Who presents the workshop?

The workshop is presented by experienced professionals, which may include:

  • A divorce attorney

  • A family counselor

  • A financial advisor

Presenters may vary by month, but the structure and quality of the workshop remain consistent.

How long is the workshop?

The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Central Time) and includes short breaks between segments.

What should I bring?

Just yourself — and perhaps a notebook.

Many people find it helpful to write down questions or thoughts as they listen, but nothing is required.

Will this workshop be recorded?

At this time, the workshop is offered as a live experience to preserve privacy and encourage open discussion.

Is there a cost to attend?

Yes, $25.

What if I cannot afford the workshop fee?

We want this workshop to be accessible.

If the workshop fee is a hardship, please contact us for assistance with the cost. We will work with you so that finances are not a barrier to receiving educational information and support.

What happens after the workshop?

There is no obligation to take any next steps.

Some attendees choose to speak with professionals afterward; others simply use the information to reflect and move forward at their own pace.

How do I register?

You can register directly through the website.

Once registered, you’ll receive an email with login details and instructions on how to join the live workshop.

Still have questions?

If you’re unsure whether this workshop is right for you, you’re welcome to reach out or simply attend and listen.

You are not required to share anything personal to benefit from the experience.
